Shore Excursion or Activity: Dark View Falls
€45 (Euro)
Duration 4 hours
Escape and enjoy our twin falls, an experience uncommon for one site.
This tour takes you on the Leeward Highway out of Kingstown passing the Botanic Gardens and over the ridge overlooking Kingstown and Camden Park Bay. Drive through exotic coves and fishing villages, like the village of Layou where the Ruthland Vale Sugar Works gives you a good idea of just how profitable sugar was during the early history of the country. As is evident in the name of towns and villages (Troumaca, Petit Bordel and Chateaubelair), the flavour of the French is still here as a reminder of historic times. Home of Dark View Falls, Chateaubelair lies at the southern foot of the volcano. The coast here is rugged and photogenic with dramatic hill and mountain outlines, cliffs and beach. Dark View Falls is a unique attraction not yet fully explored. The geology and hydrology giving existence to the falls and the vegetation are also part of the site’s heritage. Lava and pyroclastic flow produced the rock formations that sustain the cascading waters of the falls. There are two trails to both the upper falls and the lower falls. The trail leading to the lower falls is relatively flat and easily accessible with a footbridge constructed of bamboo. The lower falls is a shower falls, very refreshing to sit under. The trail from the lower falls to the upper falls is 520 ft long with a little more hiking. This one has a larger pool for swimming. The major element of the heritage product at Dark View Falls is its two waterfalls.
NOTE:
• Casual dress wear, bathing suits and towels are recommended.

Shore Excursion or Activity: Soufrière Tour and Caribbean Coast
€59 (Euro)
Duration 5 hours
Lunch included
Departs from Marigot Bay, ends in Soufrière
Departing from beautiful Marigot Bay you will travel along the western coast, bypassing the fishing villages of Anse la Raye and Canaries, before the descent into the town of Soufriere. The majestic Pitons, two great peaks, will fill you with excitement. Arrive at the Still Plantation Restaurant for a delicious Creole lunch. Nestled on the hillside this enchanting resort captures a spectacular view of St. Lucia’s rain forest.
Your journey will continue to an award winning historical site, the Soufriere Estate’s Diamond Botanical Gardens, Waterfall & Mineral Baths. Established in 1745, this estate is one of the oldest estates on the island and was a portion of the 2000 acres of land that was granted to the owners by King Louis XIV in 1713 in recognition of their services to the Crown & Country. A guided tour takes you through the beautiful Botanical Gardens and the falls tumbling through mineral-streaked rock walls and jungle thick ferns. The water forms a stream that flows through underground pipes to a series of baths at different temperatures. These mineral baths were originally built in 1784 by the Baron De Laborie and restored in 1925 by the owners of the estate. These hot mineral springs are enjoyed today for therapeutic bathing. The gardens themselves are quite beautiful and after your guided tour there will be an opportunity to purchase a postcard or small souvenir before departing. Driving up through a luscious rainforest you will drive into the world’s only drive-in volcano, La Soufriere. The roads lead you right up to the remnants of a volcanic crater; a moonscape of barren earth and gravel where pools of muddy water bubble and belch out clouds of steam. The sulphur smell is predominant and after your informative tour you can enjoy a warm refreshing dip in the sulphurous pool below the bridge. As your tour comes to an end, the buses will take you to the Soufriere Jetty to reboard your ship.
NOTE:
• Lunch will be served at the Still Plantation restaurant or similar.
• A rum punch of a fruit juice is offered upon your arrival.
• Menu is Caribbean/creole style, drinks are not included during lunch.

Shore Excursion or Activity: Nutmeg and Falls
€40 (Euro)
Duration 4 hours
The west coast of Grenada hosts a number of features that are very specific to Grenada: spices and cocoa at Dougaldston Estate, nutmeg in Gouyave and in the tropical heights, waterfalls and plantations. Your point of departure is St George’s, and you’ll follow the road north along the Caribbean Sea. One fishing village follows the other; the beaches form an extended ribbon of coral and volcanic sand. Life glides by at a tranquil and calm pace, following the Caribbean rhythm. In Gouyave, fishing is not the only source of income. This small town reveals one of its most surprising features: the nutmeg cooperative plant. Well-protected behind high walls, the plant harkens back to times past. You’ll find no conveyor belts or machinery here: the long manufacturing chain of this precious spice starts off in nimble fingers of the kind-hearted "mammas." Humble and conscientious, these women’s movements are repeated day after day in the long tradition of nutmeg processing. Leaving Gouyave behind you, the next stop is Dougaldston Estate, another rustic setting. Founded in 1700, this ancient cocoa plantation exposes the island to a wonderful palette of spices and scents. Further down the road, on your way back, you will make a detour to look at the Concorde waterfalls. Here you’ll discover a very particular type of plantation nestled along the flanks of the hills.
NOTE:
• This excursion can be organized in the opposite direction.
• Photography inside the factory is prohibited.
• You may swim by the waterfall.
• Make sure you have proper shoes if you wish to take a walk in the plantations; the terrain can be slippery at times.
• The drive from The Carenage (St. George's) to Dougaldston Estate will take about an hour.
• You will visit the nutmeg cooperative for about 40 minutes and continue on a 20 minute drive to the Concord Falls for a 45 minute stop.
• From Concord Falls to St George’s the drive is about an hour.

Shore Excursion or Activity: Exquisite Barbados
€65 (Euro)
For In-transit and Disembarking Guests
Duration 5 hours
Travel along the west, east and south coast of Barbados and through the interior to see one of the last remaining authentic house of the 17th Century that exists anywhere in the "New World”. A modern distillery in an age-old Plantation Setting.
Departing from the harbor, you will make your way up the beautiful and tranquil West Coast, also known as the Gold Coast. You will pass through Holetown, where in 1625 the British first landed. It was originally named Jamestown, after its benefactor, King James I of England. You will see the Holetown Monument which commemorates the first English landing in Barbados in 1625.Continuing on you will pass through Speightstown, which was the first major port and commercial centre of Barbados and is the home of a brand new luxury marina development - Port St. Charles.
Turning inland, the drive continues through the Barbadian countryside, where evidence of the main agricultural crop, sugar cane, is widely evident. Now, you will arrive at St. Nicholas Abbey. Here you will be privileged to view this elegant home- this is truly one of Barbados’ most historic landmarks and is listed as one of Barbados’ “seven wonders”. This Jacobean Mansion was built in 1650, a mere 23 years after the first settlement of the island. It is one of only three existing in the Western Hemisphere. The plantation and its buildings have remained much as they were for the previous three centuries, thus preserving a wealth of history and traditions.
Soak in the colonial elegance as you tour this picturesque house with curved gables; you will be transported back in time to the elegance and splendor of colonial life on the plantation. After the House Tour, enjoy a complimentary rum/fruit punch in the cozy courtyard before being escorted to the Sugar and Rum Bond Museum, which includes displays of the products of St. Nicholas Abbey and tasting/sampling of their “famous” Pepper Rum. You will depart Nicholas Abbey and make a short 10min photo stop at the magnificent Cherry Tree Hill, which happens to be directly on the outskirt of St. Nicholas - Approximately 850 feet above sea-level, this spot offers an excellent view of the "Scotland District" which covers the parish of St.Andrew and is named after the Patron Saint of Scotland, giving you a perfect opportunity to capture breathtaking photos. It is believed that the name "Cherry Tree Hill" originated from the large number of cherry trees which once existed at this location. Today the road is lined with mahogany trees, which were introduced into Barbados after the Treaty of Paris in 1763. Now you will turn to the East Coast of our Island with the Atlantic Ocean's pounding surf. You will pass Bathsheba, which is well known as the 'surfing spot' on the Island as many local and regional surfing competitions have been held here. Your tour will now continue up the hills again towards the St. John's Church, erected in 1660 and situated 800 feet above sea level, this ancient church offers you spectacular views of both the picturesque east and south coast. Here the tomb of Ferdinando Paellologus, the last descendant of Christian Emperor of Constantinople can be found.
The tour continues to Sunbury Plantation House, dating back to 1650. The house was destroyed by fire in 1995, and was gracefully restored and re-opened in 1996.It possesses one of the country's superior collections of antiques. The cellars, originally used for storing yams and other root vegetables grown on the plantation, now houses a unique collection of antique carriages, the largest collection in the Caribbean, as well as many items used in the domestic life of the plantation. It also houses a very old collection of optical machinery and sight testing equipment, some of the first to come to the West Indies including the first lens
grinding plant. In the extensively landscaped grounds are more fine authentic examples of old carts and machinery used in the last century to cultivate the land. Sunbury Plantation House, located in the tranquil St. Philip countryside is a living monument to plantation life of bygone era, carefully restored and lovingly cherished for posterity, for the enjoyment of generations to come. Enjoy a sumptuous Bajan buffet lunch before your transfer to the airport or to the port.

Bequia, once a busy center for whaling and boat building, still retains its traditions and skills based on the sea. The superb anchorage, with its traditional lifestyle, has invited many visiting yachtsmen to drop anchor in Admiralty Bay. The charming, slower pace of life, rich in tranquillity, can be enjoyed.
The tour begins from Bequia’s capital, Port Elizabeth, where a number of shops, restaurants, small hotels and guesthouses provide a captivating scene that is second to none. Duration 3 1/2 hours
Leaving Fort de France, your first stop will be at Balata Church, a mini replica of the Sacred Heart Basilica of Montmartre in Paris, built in 1925. Situated at the height of Fort de France, it offers a panoramic view of the city and its bay. On your way you will take the Trace Road (really a track rather than a road), opened by the Jesuits in the 18th century, between enormous bamboos and giant arboreal ferns and lianas.
The second stop will be at the Botanical Garden of Balata, a marvelous garden now open to the public after 20 years of grounds preparation and collection of flowers and plants by owner Mr. Jean Philippe Thoze, a botanical and landscape gardener. Walk under the trees and discover a multitude of botanical plants and flowers harmoniously placed. The reception hall is located in the renovated authentic Creole house. There is also an exhibition of native fruits and vegetables. On the way back, you will stop in Fort de France for a 45-minute walking tour to discover the main monuments of this city, like Fort Saint-Louis, a Vauban style 17th
century military edifice; the "Place de la Savane," just below the Fort; former Place d’Armes, with its majestic trees – royal palms and tamarinds; the statues of Belain d’Esnambuc and Joséphine Tascher de la Pagerie, Napoleon Bonaparte’s wife, and the Bibliothèque Schoelcher, designed by the architect Henry Picq, contemporary of Gustave Eiffel.
