  Day 3 - Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Summer Palace, and Peking Duck feast (Beijing)

  Among the fascinating places you will visit is the Forbidden City, the largest and most complete ancient imperial palace in the world. Stand in the middle of Tiananmen Square, the heart of Beijing, and then visit the Summer Palace. In the evening, top off a fabulous day with an authentic Peking Duck dinner.

  Day 4 - The Great Wall, the Ming Tombs, and the Beijing Opera (Beijing)

  The Great Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is without question one of the man-made wonders of the world. To walk this marvel of the ancient world is truly memorable. Later in the day, travel the Sacred Way, home to the remnants of the Ming Tombs. End your day with yet another highlight, an evening at the magnificent Beijing Opera.

  Day 5 - Hutongs tour (Beijing)

  Ride in a rickshaw for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Hutongs, ancient lanes and alleyways located in the old residential area of Beijing.

  Day 6 - Terra Cotta Warriors, City Wall, and Tang Dynasty dinner and performance (Xi'an)

  Xi’an is the capital of Shaanxi Province and the site of one of the most significant archaeological excavations of the 20th century, the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses. Visit the City Wall, one of the oldest and best- preserved walls in China. In the evening, indulge in a Tang Dynasty dinner and cultural show.

  Day 7 - Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an and Chongqing Zoo panda viewing (China)

  Visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. We’ll stop at the Chongqing Zoo for a glimpse of the giant pandas.

  Day 8 - Fengdu or Wanzhou (China)

  You’ll visit either Fengdu, the “Ghost City,” with its gardens, temples, and statues of ghosts, or the new relocation village for families who have moved as a result of the Yangtze’s rising waters brought about by the Three Gorges Dam. Depending on river conditions, an alternative excursion may be substituted to the port city of Wanzhou.

  Day 9 - Lesser Gorges (Daning)

  Board a riverboat and embark on a voyage through the enchanting Lesser Gorges of either the Daning River or Shennong Stream. You’ll also sail through the Xiling Gorge and then through the amazing Three Gorges Dam ship locks.

  Day 11 - Shanghai tour and Shanghai Acrobat performance (Shanghai)

  Visit Old Town; the Bund, Shanghai’s famed waterfront promenade; and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. On your final night in China, prepare to be dazzled by the amazing Shanghai Acrobats.
