Day 2 - New Bedford Whaling Museum (New Bedford)
In this famous whaling city be sure to visit the New Bedford Whaling Museum, just a 10-minute walk from the ship or enjoy a ride on the famous New Bedford Trolley. The museum is the largest museum devoted to the history of North American Whaling. After lunch you may want to tour the famous 1834 Rotch-Jones Duff House, a good example of the houses and gardens described in the novel Moby Dick. Ask the Assistant Hotel Manger for transportation arrangements to the museum.

Day 3 - Be enchanted on this quiet 19th century island (Nantucket)
Be enchanted on this quiet 19th century island still retaining the charm of the whaling days and its sea captains. A 1½ hour, narrated tour of the entire island will include the early history and whaling stories of this popular spot and a ride through the beautiful village of Siasconset known for its rose covered cottages. Don’t forget to smell the Roses!!!

A 3 hour, narrated tour of the historic and famous Newport City. With the brilliant Atlantic Ocean on one side and some of the country’s most impressive properties on the other, this celebrated trail is an unforgettable one. You will drive along the 10-mile, spectacular Ocean View Drive, Bellevue Ave- “Avenue of the Mansions” and the Tennis Hall of Fame. You will not forget your tour of The Breakers, a seventy-room mansion and National Historic Landmark built for Cornelius Vanderbilt II in 1895. There is easy and convenient transportation from Fort Adams to the center of Newport by water taxi. The Assistant Hotel Manager will have the information. Please ask for any additional services you need to enjoy this lovely city. There will also be bus service to Newport in the afternoon.

The Tennis Hall of Fame
Tennis innovator James Van Alen founded the Tennis Hall of Fame, site of the first U.S. National Championships in 1881. In 1954 the Tennis Hall of Fame was officially sanctioned by the United States Tennis Association and was recognized by the International Tennis Federation in 1986. Over the last ten years, the Hall of Fame complex and Museum have been restored to their original splendor with the 1997 completion.

Capricorn Gallery is located in one of the most beautiful spots on Nantucket. Old South Wharf has become a center for artist's studios and galleries since the 1950's. At the present time, about twenty galleries occupy restored fishermen's shanties on this wharf in Nantucket Harbor. Maria Mitchell Association
A scientific research and education institution offering a museum, aquarium and observatory. Where but Nantucket could you find a real marine aquarium in a quaint waterfront shack? The marine organisms of Nantucket's salt marshes, harbors, and near shore waters await your acquaintance on Washington Street. There are friendly science interns to answer all your questions about the mollusks, crustaceans, and finfish. Bird watching and wildflower walks are available in season.
Oldest House
History and architecture buffs should be sure to get a look at this hilltop house, also called the Jethro Coffin House, built in 1686 as a wedding gift for Jethro and Mary Gardner Coffin. The most striking feature of the saltbox is the massive central brick chimney with a brick horseshoe adornment said to ward away witches.
African Meeting House
When the island abolished slavery in 1773, Nantucket became a destination for free blacks and escaping slaves. The African Meeting House was built in the 1820s as a schoolhouse, and it functioned as such until 1846, when the island's schools were integrated. A complete restoration has returned the site to its authentic 1880s appearance.
Hadwen House
A pair of magnificent Greek Revival mansions on upper Main Street--commonly referred to as the Two Greeks--were built in 1845 and 1846 by wealthy factory owner William Hadwen. Today the Hadwen House is a museum, and its contents reflect how the wealthy of the period lived. Inside, on a guided tour, you will see such architectural details as the grand circular staircase, fine plasterwork, and carved Italian-marble mantels.

Visitors to the Cottage Museum can view the interior of a typical Campground cottage, complete with period furnishings offering a glimpse of life on the Campgrounds in the 1800s. Also on display are vintage photographs, a selection of stereoscopic photos of Cottage City and the Campgrounds, along with other interesting documents relating to the history of the Campground.
Cape Poge Wildlife Refuge
The Trustees of Reservations offers a selection of guided and self-guided tours that help visitors explore the natural wonders of Cape Poge Wildlife Refuge as well as the historic Cape Poge Lighthouse. All guided tours are led by expert naturalists.

Fall River Historical Society
The Fall River Historical Society's mission is to preserve and protect all manner of artifacts relating to the rich and varied history of the city of Fall River, Massachusetts. The Historical Society is housed in a granite mansion, built in 1843 in the Greek revival style for Andrew Robeson, Jr., a prominent businessman, and was once a station on the Underground Railroad.
Lizzie Borden Museum
The museum features guided tours that include history of Fall River in the 1890s. Learn the story of the famous murder mystery that was never resolved. This home is now available as a bed and breakfast for those that dare.
Marine Museum at Fall River
The Marine Museum At Fall River houses a diverse collection of marine artifacts and memorabilia including what the museum claims is one of the largest Titanic exhibitions in the world. The complete museum collection includes more than 150 scale models, 30,000 photographs, videos, uniforms, audio recordings and more.
