TopVessel Information

Mistress

Schooner | 6 Passengers | Operated by Maine Windjammer Cruises,

The Mistress is our specialty boat because she is a blend of a traditional schooner and private yacht. The "princess" of our fleet, she was built on Deer Isle, Maine, on the same lines as the old coastal schooners, but with modern accommodations below decks. She is rigged in the traditional manner: block and tackle, deadeyes and lanyard, but unlike the bigger coasters, she has inboard power.

Built in 1960 and restored in 1992, she is 60 feet overall, 46 feet on deck and accommodates 6 passengers. The Mistress has filled a niche in the industry for people who want to go windjamming but require more privacy than the larger boats offer. With just six passengers, it's almost like having your own yacht. Delicious meals are served in the tradition of the Grace Bailey and the Mercantile.

Your personable, professional captain and mate-cook welcome you to help sail and navigate, or just relax.

Each of her three private, double cabins, has its own head, sink, and private companionway from the deck.
