Moscow to St. Petersburg
River/Canal Cruising | 13 Nights | Russian History & Architecture
Follow the path of Peter the Great and discover the soul of Russia
Top▲Highlights
Peter the Great sailed along the Volga River from Moscow to St. Petersburg approximately 300 years ago on a quest to take Russia out of the Dark Ages. Today, you have a chance to follow his legendary path and celebrate the rich history and traditions of Russia, while witnessing the flourishing entrepreneurial spirit of a new market-driven economy. Your journey starts in Moscow, where you’ll stand in awe of world-famous sights such as Red Square, the Kremlin, and the iconic, onion-domed St. Basil’s Cathedral.
Cruise along the Golden Ring and visit some of Russia’s most beautiful cities—including Uglich and Yaroslavl—which are known for their grand Russian architecture, old churches made of white stone, and gorgeous monasteries. Marvel at Kizhi Island’s famous elaborate wooden structures built entirely without nails. Your journey ends in St. Petersburg, the grand city Peter the Great conceived to be his “Window on the West.” Admire Catherine’s Palace and the Hermitage Museum. Travel the grand Waterways of the Czars, and immerse yourself in the cultural and natural treasures of this vast and magnificent nation.
